It’s time to clean out that garage, shed, or around the house. The City of Winfield, Sanitation Dept. each Saturday will have (3) 40 cubic yard roll-off containers for household clean-up items only, located at the City Operation’s Center (2701 E. 9th Ave.) from 8am to 11am or until all (3) are full, so get there early so you won’t miss out. Watch the City’s Website, TV channel, Facebook Page, or the Courier/Traveler Newspaper Ad for any location changes or cancellations.
DO NOT bring these following items:
COMPOST or BRUSH (accepted at Compost Facility 320 Broad St.)
VEHICLE TIRES (accepted at Compost Facility 320 Broad St.)
REFRIGERATORS/FREEZERS or AIR-CONDITIONERS
OIL, FUEL, CHEMICALS, BATTERIES or PAINT
UTILITY POLES or RAILROAD TIES

(KSNW) - The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a Detention Career Fair on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The event will be held at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center, located at 4310 19th Street on the Wichita State University campus.
Registration for the career fair will start at 8 a.m. and the application process will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Those interested in the career fair should bring: workout clothes, tennis shoes, their social security card and high school diploma, as testing will be taking place.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office now hires individuals at 18 years of age. Individuals that are 18 years of age, or are soon to be graduating high school, are encouraged to attend. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office detention deputy position offers a competitive salary, paid vacation, sick leave, medical/ dental/ vision/ life insurance and a KPERS retirement.
The Detention Career Fair is part of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office on-going efforts to increase staffing in the detention facility.
